10 beacon men, 04 CRPF personnel among 170 test fresh cases, Recovery rate reaches 63.28 percent in UT

Srinagar, July 03 (KNO): The number of Covid-19 positive cases Friday surpassed 8000 mark in Jammu and Kashmir even as 170 fresh cases that include 10 beacon men, four CRPF personnel and four minors tested positive for the deadly virus in the Union Territory. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among new cases that were detected in J&K, 61 were tested positive at SKIMS, 11 at JVC Bemina and rest at other hospitals.  Among 170 new cases, 128 belong to Kashmir division while as 42 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 6327 including 3721 recoveries and 105 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 1692  including 1254 recoveries and 14 deaths. The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2825 including 2401 from Kashmir division and 424 from Jammu division. With 101 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 5075 which is 63.28 percent of the total cases.  "Cases tested positive in J&K include 41 from Srinagar, 05 from Kulgam, 21 from Baramulla, 01 from Shopian, 21 from Anantnag, 24 from Kupwara, 05 from Budgam, 02 from Bandipora and 08 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 42 from Jammu division include 13 from Jammu and two from Udhampur, 10 from Kuthua, 6 from Samba, 3 each from Ramban, Doda and Rajouri and 02 from Kishtiwar," officials disclosed. Professor Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent at SKIMS said that out of 154 samples tested at SKIMS on Friday, 61 samples were tested positive. He said 61 new cases include 23 from Anantnag, 12 from Kupwara, 15 from Srinagar,04 from Baramulla,02 from Kupwara, 01 from Ganderbal and 04 from CRPF battalions He said that patients include 10 beacon men from 109 RCC Trehgam Kupwara and 4 CRPF men from 35 battalion Budgam.  Dr Reyaz Untoo, Principal at JVC Bemina said that out of 536 samples tested at SKIMS Bemina (JVC) 11 from Srinagar were tested positive.  He said that 30 more patients were discharged taking tally of discharged patients to 529 while as 106 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital.  He further added that 19 normal deliveries were managed and 28 major surgeries were conducted at hospital till date. Officials from CD hospital said that among 63 cases that were tested positive at CD hospital include 2 from BB cantonment Srinagar, a doctor from GMC Srinagar and 4 minors including a 4 month, 8 month and year old babies.  As per officials figures, 1062 positive cases including 28 deaths and 407 recoveries are from Srinagar, 949 including 19 deaths and 412 recoveries are from Baramulla, 851 including 598 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kulgam, 802 including 13 deaths and 611 recoveries are from Shopian, 713 including 09 deaths and 554 recoveries are from Anantnag, 566 including 418 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Kupwara, 518 including  257 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Pulwama, 439 including 237 recoveries and 09 death are from Budgam, 298 including 265 recoveries and 01 death are from Bandipora, 118 including 62 recoveries are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 376 including 295 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Jammu district, 286 including 193 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur, 226 including 187 recoveries are from Ramban, 242 including 177 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 158 including 114 recoveries from Samba, 123 including 111 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 118 including 01 death and 65 recoveries are from Rajouri, 89 including 60 recoveries and 02 death are from Doda, 45 including 31 recoveries are from Reasi and 29 including 21 recoveries are from Kishtwar. As per the daily information bulletin, 290,760 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 40,929 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 2825 persons are in hospital isolation while 39 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 202,112 persons have completed surveillance period and 44,736 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 385,501 samples are available. Out of 385,501 the number of samples tested negative stands at 377,482 while as 8019 have been tested positive, among them 2825 are active and 5075 persons have recovered and 119 persons have died—(KNO)
